Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve: Known for its high density of tiger population and excellent bird life Bandhavgarh is one of the most visited national park of central India. Spread over 694 SqKms, these forests have given us some famous tigers like Charger and Sita. It is in these forest tracts that Maharaja Martand Singh ji of Rewa royalty saved the first living white tiger and named it Mohan.
Kanha Tiger Reserve: Winning the tag of ‘Best managed Tiger reserve in India’ for last many years Kanha forest landscape is one of the best places to spot the king of the jungle – Tiger and 21 other mammal species along with 259 species of birds. Kanha’s Sal and Bamboo forests, water bodies and grasslands attract wildlife lovers from all over the world. Kanha is known amongst conservationists for some breakthrough conservation activities including saving Barasingha’s from brink of extinction.
Welcome to New Delhi, capital of India. On reaching you are escorted to your hotel where you can take some rest and let jet lag wither off. Evening can be spent on visiting famous historical buildings and shopping for our tour ahead.
Our morning flight takes us to Jabalpur, the land of Marble rocks. A short drive through picturesque landscape takes us to Bandhavgarh national park where we check in at our resort. Our first birding trip starts in the evening when we take a walk in buffer region of this world famous tiger reserve.
Our first safari of the tour to spot the striped cat – Tiger and other free roaming wildlife starts early morning. Bandhavgarh is famous for its biodiversity with 22 known species of mammals, 270 birds and other flora and fauna. Evening is reserved for birding on foot and we visit another strip of buffer region. For coming 2 days our itinerary remains same with morning safaris in core area and evenings spotting birds in the buffer.
Kanha national park is calling us today to enjoy its pristine wilderness. A 5 hour drive through villages and beautiful landscape will take us to Kanha Village Eco Resort, located near Khatia gate of Kanha. After lunch and a orientation, we leave for our first birding walk in the buffer forest near the resort.
With morning reserved for safaris and noon for birding walks we will be spending next 3 days enjoying this tiger country. Kanha is famous for its Tigers and Hard ground Barasingha – the twelve tinned swamp deer. We may spot many birds in the core as well as buffer.
Our last birding walk of the tour will be as rewarding as other days and we may spot some elusive and rare species of birds. We may have a picnic breakfast so as to give maximum time to our birding activity. After lunch we leave for Jabalpur (3 hours drive) to catch our flight back to national capital – New Delhi where you are transferred to the international airport. We will wait for you to come back to appreciate the peaceful forests of central India and enjoy some more of India's wilderness.
