Eyes of the Tiger tour
Welcome to New Delhi, the capital of India. Check in at your hotel and take some rest to ward off jet lag. You can also plan to see historical buildings or visit local markets.
In the morning we leave for airport to catch our flight for Jabalpur. A 3 hour journey by road will take us to Kanha national park from Jabalpur airport. Here we are staying at Kanha Village Eco Resort, a boutique eco-friendly wildlife lodge, especially selected for your comfort and wilderness experience. In the evening we will take a jungle walk in buffer region of Kanha forests after orientation about Kanha and its flora and fauna.
Our first safari of the tour starts from morning. Today we will be taking two safaris in the dense Sal and Bamboo forests of Kanha. Kanha landscape is one of the best in India to spot the King of the Jungles – Tiger. It has 22 known species of mammals, 259 birds, 117 butterflies and host of other flora and fauna.
We will be having 2 safaris today. Famous Sal and Bamboo forests of Kanha are interspersed with grassland (meadows), water bodies and flowering and fruiting flora species which attracts birds from near and far. You will get a chance to spot and photograph some rare birds including Munias, Babblers, Grey Hornbill, Orioles, Owls and many predator birds.
Famous as one of the best managed tiger reserve in India – Kanha national park is actually a paradise for nature lovers. It is due to hard work, dedication and sacrifice of staff and local people that Kanha has been able to save its pristine beauty and bio-diversity. It is in these forests you can see one of the rarest deer species – Hard ground Barasingha – the twelve tinned swamp deer. Our morning and evening safaris will give us a chance to spot and enjoy the free roaming wildlife here.
One moment all wildlife lovers wait for is of having a personal audience with the King, the beautiful striped cat – Tiger. We will spot a few hopefully on our safaris at Kanha. This magnificent animal is respected by natives as custodian of forest and water. Safari in 4x4 open Gypsy takes you in the forest to spot the free roaming wildlife and enjoy the wilderness. Your accompanying nature guide and driver will tell you in detail about the forest and help in spotting the striped big cat and other forest denizens.
After a wilderness packed tour of Kanha today we leave for Jabalpur to catch our flight back to the capital city – New Delhi. Interested guests can take a quick jungle walk or visit local tribal village before breakfast. On reaching Delhi you are transferred to international airport to catch flight back home with a resolution to come back to enjoy the Indian jungles.
